IB9 Built Wall – Partition 4.5" and Boundary 9"

Walls built from SPB interlocking bricks. Dry interlocking assembly: no mortar and no plaster needed. Choose the wall type above.

Option 1 – Partition Wall 4.5" (priced per sq ft)

Single-skin 4.5" wall from IB9 bricks, without columns. Suitable for any height.

• Rs 92.30 per sq ft of wall face, material supply only

• 5.33 IB9 bricks (9" x 4.5" x 3") per sq ft @ Rs 17.30

• Example: a 10 ft long x 8 ft high partition = 80 sq ft = Rs 7,384

Option 2 – Boundary Wall 9" with columns (priced per running ft, 5 ft high)

9" wall from IB18 + IB9 bricks, with 12" x 12" columns at every 10 ft. Basis: 5 ft height.

• Rs 923 per running ft at 5 ft height, material supply only

• 53.3 IB9-equivalent bricks per running ft (IB18 + IB9 combination) @ Rs 17.30

• Columns are included in the rate

• Example: a 100 ft boundary, 5 ft high = Rs 92,300

Labour, foundation and transport are not included in either option.

Partition 4.5", per sq ft

• Bricks: red brick 6 x Rs 7 = Rs 42 | SPB 5.33 x Rs 17.30 = Rs 92

• Masonry labour + cement mortar: red brick Rs 35 | SPB Rs 5 (dry interlocking, no mortar)

• Plaster, both sides: red brick Rs 100 | SPB Rs 0 (not required)

• Putty and paint: same for both

• Total: red brick Rs 177 | SPB Rs 97, a saving of about Rs 80 per sq ft (~45%)

Boundary 9", per running ft at 5 ft height

• Bricks: red brick 60 x Rs 7 = Rs 420 | SPB Rs 923

• Masonry labour + cement mortar: red brick Rs 350 | SPB Rs 50 (dry interlocking, no mortar)

• Plaster, both sides: red brick Rs 500 | SPB Rs 0 (not required)

• Putty and paint: same for both

• Total: red brick Rs 1,270 | SPB Rs 973, a saving of about Rs 297 per running ft (~23%)

Why is the SPB wall lower in cost?

An SPB brick costs more per piece than a red brick, but the wall needs no cement mortar and no plaster, and the interlocking bricks go up faster with far less labour. The savings on cement, mortar, labour and plaster more than make up for the higher brick price.

The comparison is based on the ex-works Anand price; freight as applicable is to be added for other locations. Red brick figures exclude columns. Costs are indicative and may vary by location and market conditions.
